What We Do
SAIC meets every other month to address any issues pertaining to sexual assault response in the City and County of Denver. In addition, subcommittees meet as needed to plan, discuss and develop special projects and initiatives. SAIC responsibilities include:
- Acting as a forum for Denver agencies involved in sexual assault response to update policies and discuss current issues and initiatives.
- Implementing the Denver Sexual Assault Response Protocol by training member agencies and service providers.
- Ensuring that the Denver Sexual Assault Response Protocol is being followed.
- Performing community outreach initiatives to inform residents of available sexual assault resources.
- Hearing and mediating complaints of sexual assault victims in Denver who are dissatisfied with the response to their assault. To learn more, please see our page on Victim Mediation.
